Countryside camping

The campsites in this region boast excellent sports facilities, a swimming pool and play area. Each campsite offers pitches for your own tent or caravan, but accommodation, such as mobile homes, is also available. 

If you choose to camp in Harz you will be staying close to the Harz National Park, where the highest peak, Brocken, reaches 1142 metres. The beautiful surroundings, fresh air and clear waters are a guarantee of a restful holiday. 

Sights 

This beautiful natural environment offers a wealthy of activity. In the summer months you can enjoy hiking, cycling and horse-riding, while in the winter the region transforms into a popular winter sports destination. The nearby towns are also highly recommended.
 
•    Eschwege
Medieval Eschwege is great for exploring winding streets, relaxing on a terrace or enjoying the local cuisine in the town's many fine restaurants. 

•    Kassel
The arty city of Kassel is a must-visit during a trip to Harz, and is easily accessible from your campsite. Kassel boasts a variety of sights, including a castle, Hercules monument and Wilhelmshöhe. The international exhibition of modern and contemporary art, Documenta, is also highly recommended. 

•    Wernigerode 
Wernigerode boasts a rich history. It is centred around a picturesque market square, and interesting sights such as the churches of St. Margaret and St. John. 

Climate

The Harz mountains have a varied climate, and the higher up you go, the cooler the temperatures, although temperatures can rise suddenly if the wind blows from the North Sea. The warmest months are July and August.
