The campsite had excellent facilities, we had a serviced pitch with water waste drainage and electricity
First impressions are slightly alarming when confronted by ‘shacks’ but once settled onto a really nice and spacious pitch surrounded by like minded campers, the approach just became part of the holiday and caused no concerns whatsoever. The reception staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.
The facilities were cleaned at least three times per day and were spotless and the cleaners were lovely, friendly people. The cafe/ restaurant was on the edge of the lagoon making it a great place to sit and eat/drink and the staff were great.
There are places to walk or cycle to with restaurants and bars along the way.
There is a Spar shop on site and the prices compare favourably with the larger supermarkets in town.
We had a fantastic holiday and cannot wait to return.
Campsite looks like a Shanty Town. Internet not very good on touring pitches. Touring pitches are not bad, quite big and private. Beach not nice at all, muddy not sandy. No shade around swimming pool and nothing to sit on or sunbathe .Recommended to us but we were not impressed. Will not be visiting it again.
We stayed two nights over a very hot weekend. The pitches were large and high hedges provided a little shade. The site is huge with lots of permanently occupied pitches but there were plenty of spaces for our motor home near the beach and restaurant. The on-site shop was large and well-stocked. The shower blocks were exceptionally clean with plenty of showers and the cubicles were roomy. Only drawback was no hot water for washing dishes or clothes. The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful. We had a great time and would definitely return.
We were here more than 2 weeks in March 2016, including Easter Holiday.
Advantages: big places, quite separate from others, a lot of opportunities for walking to beach or to supermarket (camping is about 1,5 km long), possibility to ride on bikes, good possibility to wind surfing if you have your own equipment.
Disadvantages: problem with hot water for showers, sometimes you have to wait 10-15 minutes to get hot water; no warm water for washing dishes, no possibility to book exact place in advance.
We were reluctant to visit this site after hearing bad reports of it. However it is a very good site.... Huge and a bit soul-less somehow but it has everything you could need.....especially if you have a dog that needs a bath now and then! It has the best dog shower I have ever used...I want one! Even though it is a huge site it is very quiet and pitches are separated by high hedges so nice and private... I don't think we will go back but it is really a very good site. Sorry I can't find a reason we disliked it because it has everything....and more!!
Stayed here over last winter, returning this winter for 4mths. Large site but very quiet considering the amount of people there. Lots to do during the day, very friendly people, would recommend
We went here because of the extensive dog walking possibilities. The site itself can be a bit tatty because of the permanent resident shanty town on the West side of the site. However, there is a lot of things to do in the area. Good bike routes and friendly local villages, as well as miles of beach. Everything is accessible from bike repairs, British car mechanic and butcher, as well as some really good restaurants in the local area. The cafe is good and the daily menus are good value (the free drink is a bottle!) but rather heavy. Site gets dusty when the wind blows.
We booked for 4 nights but after 2 we had had enough. I cannot see why people return here year after year including the caravan and caravan and camping clubs. It has a lot of toilet blocks with small showers where you have to leave your clothes outside with one toilet roll outside the toilets. It is like a shanty town and you can purchase anything from trailers to bungalows. Although the pitch was fully serviced you had high hedges all around you and was a tight squeeze for an 8 meter Motorhome with tight bends. Shop good and Bar with Tapas also good but it's a long walk. Beach is very small. Not one for us so will not return.
We were booked in for 5 weeks in December/January 2014. We managed 3 and that was only because we were awaiting delivery of our 2015 ACSI guide to the site. The campsite itself is quite good, apart from the toilet blocks, but the surrounding area lets it down badly. The shower cubicles don't have dry areas where you can get changed in private. The laundry sinks are too small with a trickle of luke warm water and there aren't enough washing machines. There's a small beach with a tapas bar cum restaurant and a large Spar supermarket on site open all year. The pitches are aligned east-west separated by tall hedges. When the sun is low in December your pitch either doesn't get any sun until early afternoon or looses it mid afternoon. To get to the nearby urbanisations you need to walk across uneven ground which can be quite muddy. When you get there you find a ghost town of empty apartment blocks and closed bars & restaurants. There is a bus to Cartagena from outside the campsite, but it doesn't drop off at the camp site on the way back necessitating either a walk over the muddy waste ground or along a busy road with no footpath. When we were there the campsite were offering English TV and a secure internet connection through an outside company, but there was a week's waiting list to have it installed and the minimum rental period was a month. When it didn't work they were very slow to fix it and didn't turn up when they said they would. There is a huge Camping and Caravanning Club rally on throughout the off season. If you like beautiful scenery, peace and quiet and want to feel like you're actually in Spain, don't come here. If you want England with sunshine where you can park up with a large group of Brits, eat English food and watch English TV without ever having to leave the camp site or speak a word of Spanish, then this place is for you.
