Easy to find and reasonably easy access. I have a tag axle and had no problems. If nobody in office, park where you like and then book in after 6. Showers dated but clean (now have loo seats). Lots of trees cover the site, so many pitches are quite small. If I wanted to, I couldn't put up my awning. Electric supply meters are at the beginning or the end, (depending how you view it) of each row. So depending where you pitch up, you may need a mighty long lead. It's early March and we are the only ones here.
This site is handy for visiting Merida, which is about 1k away. We arrived mid afternoon and the bathrooms had just been cleaned so whilst old, they looked fine. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be cleaned more than once a day because by the next morning the ladies shower area was very grubby. My partner tells me that the men's bathrooms were fine and pretty clean. Having said that, we liked the site as the pitches are nicely shaded and the pool was a welcome addition.
We liked this site. We thought the showers were the best we’ve seen especially the disabled for my husband with the pull down seat and the long benches outside the showers were ideal to finish off drying. There was plenty of room to pitch and the site was only slightly sloping. The reception had clear signs on it, I just went into the bar and asked and they checked me in and were very friendly, we had drinks at the bar and they do food as well which we didn't try. There is free Wi-Fi all over but it can be weaker further away from reception. Merida was worth a visit and we cycled in.
There is no one around, they seem to turn up when they feel like. The site is expensive at €18 and there are no seats on the loos. But it is clean and there is a restaurant on site open all day. Merida is a must see place and they have closed the aire so there you are, one night to see the most fantastic Roman ruins in Spain.
We will never stay here again which regrettably means that we will not return to enjoy the city of Merida which is really interesting.
The campsite seems very run down with rusty old washing machines and an old boiler left to rot. Our "welcome" was far from friendly at 6 p.m when the "Reception" opened. The lady sat behind a very high counter (was she afraid of being attacked?) in a tatty office with no information leaflets or maps. We have no problem with non-English speaking site owners/employees but interestingly the only English words she had were "You pay now or when you leave?". We chose to pay up at the time of registering because it was unclear whether we would have to wait till she turned up at 6 p.m on our day of departure in order to pay.
The reception was closed when we arrived however there is a note in English giving instructions to find your own pitch and saying that reception would be open at 6 pm.
We were greeted on arrival by a friendly Spanish lady, who it turned out was the cleaner and reception person.
The site is slightly sloping and all grass pitches with plenty of trees for shade.
The facilities were good and were being cleaned when we arrived. Plenty of hot water in the morning and evening.
O.K. so no toilet seats but there was toilet paper available from a dispenser near the entrance. It's a pleasant site and should not be avoided due to negative reviews.
We would return.
Camping in need of care and attention. The toilets were clean but no seats, and this made them too low to use for older people. The drinking water area was so dirty we could not top up our tank. By far the worse thing was the constant barking of dogs in the surrounding area which meant a very poor nights sleep.
Thank god we only used this as a stopover site. Reception (if you can call it that) staff were bordering on rude. They only accept cash. It was winter but the site looked like it had not been open for years. 2 washers stood outside under cover, one with no door on. When we arrived there were no other campers on the site, then 2 turned up and they both pitched next to us, for safety I think.
Not really near anywhere.
Not one of our favourite stops either. We travelled in October and stayed one night. To be fair the childrens farm with donkey, sheep, chickens and love birds were idyllic but we had difficulty parking our 8 m motorhome with trailer. The staff were meaningful but not over helpful - non English. The toilet facilities were very good and spotless - ok for an overnight stay for us. Dogs in the surrounding area did keep us awake during the night which did not help.
Not one of our favourite sites. There were insects & other debris floating on the surface of the swimming pool. When we arrived there was nobody at reception until 6pm & the owners/staff spoke very little English & had no information leaflets etc.The bar/restaurant prices were not good value,(chicken & chips twice with 1 shared salad + 2 large beers & 2 small glasses of wine for 37 euros) but the bar staff were friendly. Plots were of a reasonable size & plentiful as we were one of only half a dozen campers on the site. I think we would have to be pretty desperate to return to this campsite.
